Fall Tablescape
Is it just me or does it seem like we blinked and all of a sudden fall was here? As I've mentioned before, I'm definitely not complaining about it. I love everything about fall so obviously when it comes to entertaining and decor - I love that too.
My initial thoughts for this look were to keep things fairly monochromatic with just a simple pop of green however, when I opened my fridge and saw the pears and plums, I was inspired by the warm colors of the fruit and switched up my plan altogether! Decorating is funny that way - sometimes you have a plan and then inspiration hits and you totally switch it up! When that happens just go with the flow and ride the coattails of that strike of inspiration, usually that's when your projects turn out the best! So on I went to rich oranges, reds and plums paired with striking green to really pop against a white tablecloth and dishes. And of course I couldn't set a table without gold cutlery - this is me after all!
When working with so much color I like to try to keep the rest of the setting more neutral so that your accents really pop. I used my mother's china to add a feeling of fancy to the table as well as the gold cutlery and my amber toned glassware. All of those warm tones just scream fall to me!
The piece de resistance of this whole setting really is the stunning centerpiece. Who doesn't love table art that they can also eat?! haha All kidding aside though, the haphazard arrangement of fruits and greenery atop a beautiful walnut tray is just so quintessentially fall. I'm going to be sharing the full "how to" on this DIY centrepiece next week but for now, I hope you enjoy this inspiration! And, if a little less color is more your style - head over to my girl Kristina's blog and see her gorgeous table setting for more fall inspiration. (Trust me, it's beautiful!)
Happy entertaining everyone!
