GTL: Moroccan Modern Decor
Welcome to another edition of Wednesday's GTL! Today we're talking decor. A little project that I'm working on right now has me focused on the warm, colourful, eclectic style of moroccan decor done in a modern style. It's a huge switch from the Christmas decor that we're soooo heavily inundated with right now and in the middle of a chilly winter in Edmonton, I felt that it was time for a little boost and change of scenery.
'Global' themed interiors are having a moment and it's no surprise. Who doesn't like fun patterns, colourful accents, and the beauty of handcrafted pieces? Yeah, no one. Needless to say, I've been having a TON of fun working on this project and I can't wait to share it with you in the upcoming weeks! For now, I'd like to give you a little inspiration to help you achieve this look for yourselves!
Look no further than ikat or geometric patterns in fabrics like pillows, draperies, and bedding. Natural woods and white painted furniture keeps things both warm and fresh. Metallics go a long way- from gold to silver to rose-gold, you can feel free to mix and match them to your heart's content. Add some bright pops of colour with accents like table lamps, picture frames, woven baskets (great for storing clutter), and tabletop decor. And remember: you won't truly achieve the look until you throw caution to the wind and have fun!
These are a small sampling of the pieces that I've been working with to create the look. I can't wait to show you more in the new year!
