Too Faced
When it comes to my day to day beauty look, I've had my routine nailed down for almost ten years (wow, I feel a litle bit old writing that)! Aside from a few small changes I've always mixed a light foundation with some SPF moisturizer (why oh why don't I just try a bb cream- I don't know?! haha), dab any trouble zones with some concealer, dust on a little powder, bronzer and blush and finish the eyes with some liquid liner and mascara. I like to think I've had this little routine mastered and my day to day look takes me 10 minutes or less which is perfect for a non-morning person such as myself!
I've semi-recently (over the past few months) made a few changes to some of the products I've been using. You might remember in this post I wrote about my favorite mascara. Well, when I could no longer find this mascara anywhere I began the search for a replacement and aside from this one, no mascara even came close until I received the Too Faced "Better Than Sex mascara". I'll leave it for you to try to decide if you agree with the name or not but I will say that this is hands down the best mascara I've ever used. Ever. For reals.
That being said I also decided to give the luxurious Too Faced bronzers a try because I loved them when I tried the chocolate bronzer a while ago. I'm pretty much obsessed with the snow leopard and the milk chocolate (because it legit smells like chocolate)- YUM!
So since I figured it had been a while since I tried a few new tricks, I had my cousin and makeup artist Stephanie from Makeup by Neenz come over to help me get out of my beauty rut.
The first life changing tip she gave me was to use a wet sponge to apply foundation. Mind = blown. There's no way I'll ever not use this trick, the foundation is way easier to smooth out and blend with a damp sponge - consider me a changed woman!
After applying foundation (and she did such a bang up job I didn't even need concealer!), she used my Rimmel powder that I've been using for years and then we got to the good stuff- contouring 101. The simple trick Steph taught me was to apply bronzer in a '3' using your temple, cheekbone and jawline as your guides. You'll have to excuse my lack of tech savvy when it comes to the visual but it gets the point across lol!
To finish the look off she used the only eyeshadow palette I've ever felt comfortable using (lol), the Too Faced dark chocolate palette, used it to fill in my eyebrows as well and then some liquid liner and my mascara. The last touch was a swipe of the Melted Metallics gloss in Dream House and I was set!
Thanks Steph for teaching this girl some new tricks! What is your guys' daily makeup routine look like, any tips or tricks you think I should try?
