Where to Eat YEG: Blogger Brunch at Central Social Hall
Warning: Today's post will make you hungry! haha
A few weeks ago I had the best morning brunching with a few of my favourite ladies at Edmonton's Central Social Hall. My girl Hannah (of Honey and Betts) partnered with Central Social Hall to host myself, Hannah of the Momoirs, Kassandra of Kastles, Kira of Northern Style Exposure and Clara Cecilia for the best girls brunch. We ate incredible food, had the best time and really just enjoyed having the time to catch up with one another, something we never get enough time to do.
Central Social Hall recently renovated and added a new patio to their restaurant and we were all obsessed with the pink umbrellas from the second we stepped out onto the patio! (So cute, right?!) We also learned that Central Social Hall has really upped their game when it comes to their food and drink menu. Everything they serve is made in house from scratch - from the sauces on the benny's and waffles to the syrups used in the cocktails! It was really impressive to hear how they've made changes to curate a menu made with the best ingredients and trust me, that work has paid off. Us ladies absolutely stuffed our faces on every dish we tried and I can tell you, I couldn't wait to head back to eat more!
We started the brunch off with mimosas (the best way to start a brunch if you ask me!) followed by house made belgian waffles with seasonal fruit compote and chantilly cream - you guys, these were deadly. Next up were the benny's... an Oil Country Benny with italian sausage, bacon, caramelized onions and roasted poblano and white cheddar sauce. I'm drooling just thinking about it! There was also an Avocado and tomato benny for the vegetarians out there and the crispy potatoes were what dreams are made of, just sayin' (think cooked, smashed, then fried and lightly seasoned, mmm!) Next up were more cocktails! (With mocktail versions available) We had a Cucumber Gimlet that was so refreshing and a Santana (tequila, grapefruit, lime and white chocolate) that sounded like such a bizarre combination but was SO good. Then came the beautiful salad which is already my favourite salad in the city and the tuna tataki and won ton which I loved! For dessert we tried a trio of their offerings and sampled the nutella cheesecake (my fave), the seasonal fruit crumble and the lemon cream pie.
I cannot say enough good thing about our morning and if you're looking for a brunch spot in YEG, I highly suggest giving Central Social Hall a try! Thanks again to my girl Hannah for getting us ladies together! Our summers fly by so quickly, it was so great to spend a morning with women who I respect and admire and who fill my cup! And if you take anything from today's post (other than how tasty the food is) it's to spend time with those who lift you up whether it's going to a yummy brunch with your girlfriends, walking outside with your bestie or hitting up a yoga class with a new friend. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to go dream of waffles! haha
