A Designer's Dream Home
Last week I had the chance to enjoy a private walk through of the Full House Lottery Homes with each home's designer. If you live in Edmonton chances are you are already aware of the Full House Lottery which, now in it's 24th year, has raised over 73 million dollars for the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation and University Hospital Foundation. This year, proceeds from Full House Lottery will support a PET Scanner at the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation and the Stroke Ambulance at the University Hospital Foundation.
Every year I love to walk through the stunning lottery homes that are always incredibly unique and done to the nines! It's so fun to walk through these luxurious homes and get some serious design inspiration. These homes always have a unique feature which in the past years have included a hockey rink in the basement and a hot pool in the center of a home so I'm always excited to see what unique features the homes will boast every year. This year I loved getting to walk through with the designers to get some insight into their choices.
The first home we walked through is the grand prize home valued at over 2 million and naturally, I fell in love! The 'Winchester' built by Brent Kondro and designed by Bump Interiors is a gorgeous two storey home that has a gorgeous 3 sided fireplace, a modern open concept living, dining and kitchen area and a full gymnasium with 13 foot ceilings in the basement!
A few of my favourite features of the first home were the walnut wooden features, the double chandeliers (look familiar? It's the same one I have in my dining room!) and the luxe ensuite bathroom (that tub!) *le sigh*, a girl can dream right?
The second home we toured was 'The Princeton', a bright and beautiful home designed and built by Parkwood Master Builder. I loved this home's enclosed patio space (I could totally see myself serving up a pitcher of Sangria on that patio), the slide down into the basement (yes, I said slide) oh and the scotch bar in the basement is pretty sweet too. I think it's safe to say I could move right in and feel right at home in this one. Oh, and the glass enclosed wine storage in the dining room certainly doesn't hurt either ;)
The final home we toured was a New York inspired 'Greenwich' home built by Perry Signature Homes and designed by Next Interiors. With a bold blue sofa that I fell in LOVE with, exposed brick and a basement pub, this home was in my opinion the most unique and edgiest of the three. My favourite features had to be the brick feature walls, the modern industrial kitchen and the claw foot bathtub. Oh, and can we just take a minute and admire the wooden ceiling - how gorgeous are those beams?!
Gorgeous, right?! Which home do you like best?
This year there are more than $5.1 million in prizes up for grabs in this year’s lottery including luxurious grand prize dream homes, vacation packages, vehicles, and more. The grand prize is the Winchester home and the second grand prize is your choice of the Greenwich or Princeton homes. Tickets are available at the show homes located at 907 Wood Place in Windermere and are on sale until June 8. If you're in Edmonton or the area I'd highly suggest taking a stroll through and while you're at it, purchase a ticket for an incredible cause.
Show home hours: M-F from 1-8 PM, Weekends & Holidays from 10AM - 5:30 PM
