A Modern Fall Tablescape
Never one to opt for the traditional, today I wanted to share a modern with a touch of vintage fall inspired tablescape with The Brick. Believe it or not, Canadian Thanksgiving is less than one month away and being the fall loving girl that I am, I'm already getting ready for thanksgiving, pumpkin pies, autumn cocktails and other fall celebrations! Just call me basic ;) haha
With the warm wood of the Chelsea table, and cozy tufted Caroline chairs I was inspired to set a cozy but modern table setting. I LOVE setting the table (weird? haha), and I think that it's another way to have a bit of fun with patterns, mixing and matching and decor.
Here are a few of my tips for setting an eclectic but cozy table setting
Mix + Match: For this table setting I rotated dishware and cutlery, pairing larger modern plates with smaller vintage, then rotating to larger vintage plates topped with smaller modern ones. I also rotated cutlery opting for black (modern) + gold (ties into the vintage gold rimmed plates). Don't be afraid to have a bit of fun mixing things up!
Tie it with a Bow: For a different look, use rope or twine or ribbon to tie your cutlery together. A small but impactful touch!
Think Non-Traditional: Instead of opting for a floral centerpiece, I went for a more contemporary and perhaps slightly quirky centerpiece of a boquet of pumpkins, I think it's adorable!
Try Different Arrangements: Instead of placing my placemeats in the traditional way I flipped them lengthwise so that they were narrower and ran off the table. Such a small change but I love how it looked! Also, placing the napkin under the plate rather than to the side is a more decorative look that I love!
What do you think of this fun fall inspired setting?
