Get The Look: Blue & Beautiful
Oh friends, today's post is good because well, this room is good. So good that it was featured on The Glitter Guide. But as you can tell from the eclectic mix of luxe and modern with a vintage twist, how could it not be?!
First of all, let's just all take a minute to appreciate the beauty of this sofa. I wanted so badly to get a blue or green sofa when James and I bought our house but I think that was a little bold for James - I'm slowly getting him used to "out there designer ideas" such as colored sofas ;). So in addition to loving this room for the sofa, I adore the layered rugs, mid century modern touches, the statement light fixture and the gorgeous gallery wall. *swoon*
I thought this room would make for the perfect Get The Look so without further ado, let's see how we can get this room for ourselves, shall we?
Starting at the bottom, the layered rugs set the tone for the eclectic space. I love a good moroccan trellis rug but the colorful rug layered over top adds major style points and plays to the eclectic feel of this room. The blue velvet sofa is the other major style piece in the room. I ADORE this sofa - the color, the texture, the tufting - it is just SO good.
A classic noguchi table is an homage to the mid century modern vibe in the room and the walnut side table carries that tone through the room. Because the living room is quite bold and filled with pattern and color, the dining set directly behind it is decidedly simpler. Simple parsons chairs and a wood parsons table are classics but the addition of 2 tufted chairs add a little more somethin' somethin' to the setting. The art gallery wall is another favourite element of mine ( one // two // three // four) in the room but the real stunner in the dining area is the chandelier. This is eclectic modern perfection if you ask me! What do you think?
And just because it's so good - check out these pics from the rest of the space. I don't know about you but I'd happily move into this house!
