Beauty Faves for Winter
Winter is a tough time on our skin. The air is dry, the weather is harsh and cold, we tend to overindulge in sugary foods and drinks and all of these factors take their toll on our beauty routine. To ramp things up in consideration, there are a few changes I make that I find help to fix these winter beauty blues and today I thought I'd share them with you!
1. Conair True Glow Facial Brush
This bad boy has been my favourite recent addition to my winter routine. This waterproof electronic brush comes with two heads - one for your face and one for your body. The timer indicated when it's time to move to another area of your face which is super handy when you're exfoliating daily. This brush is perfect for the cold months to exfoliate dry skin but gentle enough to use daily. Plus it's pink so naturally I love it!
2. Lise Watier Holiday Collection 2016
I love a good eyeshadow palette and this year's Arabesque collection from Lise Watier features two great eyeshadow palettes that are perfect for the holidays. I'm also loving the gold gloss for a bit of holiday sparkle!
3. Veil Beauty Lipstick in Aisle Red-Y
If you're on the search for the perfect "holiday red" you can stop now. This rich red from Edmonton's own Veil Beauty is the perfect hue. Rich and warm with a deep tone, this color has been on my lips at every holiday event I've been to thus far.
Aesop has always had an incredible reputation for being the ultimate in luxury body and skin care. I finally decided to splurge on the Rejuvenate Body Balm and the purchase was so worth it. A little goes a long way and the smell is so warm and perfect for winter. A hit of citrus, a bit of cinnamon and all kinds of warm and toasty goodness make this my favourite lotion I've ever purchased. It's not cheap but it's worth the splurge for a bit of a 'treat yourself' moment. Enjoy!
5. & 6. Frilly Lilly Cuticle Oil and Brown Sugar Lip Scrub
IMO nothing makes a fresh mani look dull more than dry cuticles but when it's freezing outside, it's a little hard to avoid. This is a personal pet peeve of mine so I always carry this moisturising cuticle oil in my purse for on the go touch ups to get rid of dry cuticles.
Next up is probably my favourite product in this whole roundup - the brown sugar lip scrub. This scrub is amazing for exfoliating during these dry months. The holiday season is the perfect time to rock a bold red or berry lip but if your lips are cracked, dry and flaking - that's definitely not a good look. I use this every night at bedtime and have noticed a huge difference in the softness of my lips. Made with real brown sugar and oils and moisturizers I'm obsessed with how great this works!
