Galentine's Party Poppers

If my Valentine's Day heart shaped pizza wasn't quite sweet or sparkly enough for you then today's post should hopefully fit the bill! While February 14th might be known as the "day of love", Feb 13th, while lesser known - is Gal-entine's Day. A day to get together with your favourite gal pals and celebrate how awesome your friends all are show a little love for your besties. 

I came up with a cute idea that would be great for a Galentine's get together (or let's be honest, it's great for kids or for your partner for Valentine's Day too!). All you need is a few paper towel rolls (or toilet paper rolls), wrapping paper or tissue paper, a bit of tape and string and some goodies to fill your poppers with.  Here's what you do

Using a toilet paper roll as my sizing guide I cut a few paper towel rolls to size. Because I was putting candy in them I  preferred to use paper towel roll but you could always use a toilet paper roll and place your goodies inside a plastic bag too. I chose to paint the cardboard just so that when the poppers tore open, it was a bit prettier inside but that step is totally optional. Once the paint dried I took two sheets of pink tissue, cut them in half width wise and used two of the halves to roll around the cardboard roll. Using two sheets just gives some extra fullness and looks great. Tape the tissue down then tie one end of the popper closed with ribbon. 

From there fill the popper with whatever you like! I used fun candies I bought in the bulk section and placed in a little card but this is where you can fill in whatever you want. Get creative! Once you've filled your popper, tie off the other end and you're done! How cute are these?!
