Holiday Home Tour
Happy Monday everyone! I don't know about you but this was a bizzzay weekend for me! James and I leave this week to go to England for the holidays and I am not AT ALL prepared haha! That being said, we did have a great weekend filled with 3 holiday parties and two family Christmas brunches to get us into the holiday spirit so today I thought I'd carry on that Christmassy feeling and share our holiday home tour!
I didn't go quite as all out with the holiday decor as I normally would seeing as we're going to be away for the holidays but I did still want to decorate so that we could enjoy the holiday vibes for the first Christmas in our new home and that way when we have family staying at our house while we're away, they'll be able to enjoy the Christmas decor too!
Starting out with our entry, I love this contemporary table from The Brick (so much I have it in gold and copper! haha) and I thought the modern grinch inspired tree and some bright presents were a perfect compliment!
Next up in our living room we kept things fairly simple with a pretty minimal tree and the addition of a few more modern holiday accents such as berries, ornaments in vases and other Christmassy objects scattered throughout our usual decor. When I decorate for the holidays I tend to try to incorporate elements of holiday decor amongst my usual decor so the look is a little more subtle.
Decor Tip: I only added a few holiday additions to my usual shelf decor. I placed some Christmas greens next to a candle, added some ornaments to my glass vase from The Brick and placed a snow globe, pinecone and an ornament in a cute little vignette along with a modern ceramic christmas tree and print but most of the other decor is consistent with my usual year round look. I like that it isn't too "in your face" with the decor as that's a little more my style when it comes to seasonal decorating.
To keep the room cozy and the ambiance holiday-esque I love this cozy fireplace nook complete with comfy ottoman for additional seating, and a warm throw for cuddling by the fire!

The next room in the house that we added a little bit of holiday cheer to was our dining room. I'm still so in love with our new dining area- the brass bar cart is definitely one of my favourite pieces in the house. We also get SO many compliments on our dining bench and everyone we have over says it's so comfortable (because it totally is). To keep the area cozy I threw a faux fur throw over for a bit of winter ambiance. I also love this mini tree with pink ornaments for a bit of a glam holiday touch.
Last but certainly not least, is my office. While I don't go too crazy with holiday decor in my office, I do try to add just a few minimal seasonal touches so that I stay in the holiday spirit even as I'm working away.
The few holiday decor additions to my office are seen in subtle touches like my modern snow globe and pink holiday ornaments. You may have noticed I used pink ornaments in the dining room as well - my grandma passed those along to my mom when she passed away and my mom, knowing how much I love pink (and love my grandma obviously!) split them with me. They make me smile every year so i try to scatter them throughout the house. Both of my grandmas love(d) the color pink so clearly I come by my obsession honestly! haha
So there's a little peek at my modern minimal holiday decor for this year. I have so may ideas I wasn't able to put together since we're away this year so is it lame that I'm already excited to decorate for next year?! lol - #designerproblems
Tag me on insta with any of your decor ideas - I'd love to check them out! XO
