Christmas Gift Wrap DIY
Well friends, Christmas is almost here and that means it's time to start wrapping all of your goodies to give to friends and family and this year, why not try something a little different? Today I've got a few ideas for you to DIY your own personalized and inexpensive gift wrap!
Supplies: I used brown paper and boxes bought at the dollar store as my "base". Washi tape and ribbon from minted, gold bows, festive straws and ornaments from the dollar store, personalized ornaments from UO, Christmas crackers, tassels (tutorial here and here for another variation), berries and more from craft stores all provided just the right amount of decoration to spruce up simple packaging.
Below: Using holiday straws I glued the "K" down for Kali's gift - this way I know who it's for without needing the "To" and "From" tag. I also used washi tape on another package to make a "T"!
Below: Taping these Berries I bought from a craft store a few years ago made for one of my favourite packages. I love that it's simple but impactful. Tie a gift tag to the stem or write on the washi tape
Below: Taping little Christmas Crackers not only looks cute, but also adds another little surprise to your package. Write the "To" and "From" on the crackers or tie a tag to one!
Below: "Fa la la la la la la la la" is fast, easy and super cute to write in a gold or white sharpie for a small package. Take a skewer, cover it with a gold paint pen, tape a washi flag (like I did here) and write the recipients name on the flag!
Below: Glue little decorations onto a bag (these are styrofoam glitter balls I got from Michaels) for an easy gift bag update. I stapled tissue tassels to another bag and used ribbon to cover up the tops for another fun gift bag!
Below: Twist a glittery pipe cleaner into a bow or tie an initial ornament with a bow to add some sparkle to your packages.
Voila! Look out Martha Stewart, you're now a DIY craftin' wrappin' machine ;)
