New Year Beauty To-Do's

Well, au revoir 2014 and hello 2015! This past year has been a whirlwind to say the least, and I cannot wait to see what lies ahead for 2015. January is a time when many people make resolutions from being a nicer person, eating more vegetables, or hitting the gym, to reading more books or going to bed earlier.  While these beauty ideas aren't resolutions, I think that a new year is a good time to maybe try a few new styes and maybe add some more looks to your beauty repitoire, so here's my 4 Beauty "To-Do's" for the new year!

1. Master a simple but cute mani

Remember this post a while back? The half and half was the simplest and definitely my fave. I've used this trick a few times since and love this combo of Julep's Lorenzana and Margot colours.  I went less half and half and more 2/3 1/3 here but you get this jist! An easy mani doesn't have to be difficult and adds a little somethin' somethin' to any look!

2. Change Up Your 'Do

I went all out a few weeks back and lobbed off almost 12" of hair which I love! While I'm not suggesting you do the same, maybe it's time to try a new "go-to" style.  If your day to day look is a top knot, maybe master a messy braid.  Or if you're a sleek pony gal, give the curling wand a go for a twist on your look.  A little change never hurt nobody! Check out some inspiration here.

3. Experiment with new lip colors

As you might remember here, I've always been more of a gloss girl but I've spent the last year moving out of my comfort zone and trying new colours and lip sticks. I got this tarte set over the holidays and absolutely love it.  A set of minis are a great way to try new colours without committing to buying a full sized colour that you might not be sure about.  I have this set from Julep that I love, and think this Urban Decay set or this set of Sephora Faves would be great to try too!

4. Try a new 'Signature Scent'

I've been wearing Prada Candy L'eau for almost two years as my go-to fragrance. This year I received two new fragrances to add to my collection that have given my go-to a run for it's money. The fact that they come in pretty packaging is just a bonus!
