Heart Shaped Pizza

Now that we're in February prepare for the onslaught of Valentine's posts everywhere you turn! haha While I love Valentine's day decor and crafts (because pink is my favourite color), I'm actually not huge on the chocolates, and buying gifts and going way crazy on the day. I've talked before about how I prefer to spend quality time with James on Valentine's Day rather than spending a bunch of money on gifts  and today I want to share a fun idea for you for Valentine's Day. Whether you make this with your partner, friends, family or even on your own - this pizza is totally delicious and obviously festive for the holiday.  Plus, this pizza is made with local and organic ingredients from SPUD so you can feel good about eating it too! ;)

Here's What You'll Need:

Pizza Crust Mix + Yeast

Pizza Sauce

Mozzarella Cheese

Fresh Basil

Calbrese Sausage

I got all of my ingredients from SPUD - I adore SPUD for supporting local and sustainable farmers and producers and if you live in one of their delivery areas (yes, they deliver to you!) you can use promo code CREDM-TIDDIA to get $20 in FREE groceries! woohoo!

Start by mixing your dough (I used this dough mix but you can also make your own) then roll the dough out until the crust is thin. I then traced a heart just freehanding with my fingernail (lol) then cut the excess dough off using a knife.

Once your heart shaped dough is ready, place on a pizza stone or baking sheet and place on the toppings. I used pizza sauce, mozzarella, fresh basil and this yummy sausage but really you can use any combo of toppings you want! (Check this proscuitto and asparagus pizza or this thai chicken pizza for inspo!)

Bake in the oven based on your dough recipe and you're set! You have an adorable and delicious heart shaped pizza perfect for a date night in. James and I had so much fun making (and eating! lol) this together.

Hot Tip: Top your pizza with franks hot sauce and a bit of drizzled honey - it will change your life, I promise! ;)
