Blogging Is Messy Business
Today let's talk about mess. No matter how hard I try, it's amazing how quickly mess builds up and if you let it, can totally take over! If there's one thing that's shocked me about blogging it's how messy it can be. Seriously. I certainly never thought that as an occupation, blogging would be responsible for so much mess in my life! haha
Almost every day packages arrive in dirty dusty boxes that are full of packing supplies that get everywhere!! DIYs and recipe posts make a HUGE mess. Plus, all those pretty flowers we use to take photos with, well those drop petals and pollen all over the house. Not gonna lie, it drives me nuts! (James too haha)
So, when the Brick sent over the Dyson V7 Motorhead Stick Vacuum it was a real game changer. I think one of the markers that you're getting older is when you start to get excited about 'grown up stuff'. If you'd told me a few years ago that I'd get this excited over a vacuum I'd have laughed you out of the room but no word of a lie, I did a little happy dance when this vacuum showed up.
Cleaning is not my favourite activity by a long shot (surprise surprise haha). But what I love about this vacuum (aside from that fact that this one is pink!! Basically the vacuum of my dreams haha) is that it's super lightweight and easy to use, so there's really no excuses. Our other vacuum is really heavy so dragging it up the stairs has never been something I've enjoyed which means that as I drag glitter and flower petals and packing materials up the stairs, it's been left to James to deal with begrudgingly. Now, I can just grab this handy stick vac from it's charging station on the wall and swap out the attachment I need and get going!
It has the full strength and power of a dyson vacuum, but in a lightweight and easier to use form. In addition to being perfect for using up the stairs and in hard to reach places it's also great for the day to day messes that I've come to expect from blogging. Life is messy, both literally and metaphorically but now at least it'll be easier to keep our house tidy ;)
For you other kindred souls who don't love to clean, what are some of your cleaning hacks that make life easier?
