A Very Canadian Picnic
Well Canada Day is fast approaching and this year I thought I'd share a cute but so simple (and affordable) Canada Day Picnic post to hopefully inspire you to get a little extra patriotic this coming Canada Day! It's funny because the older I get the more and more I love and appreciate this country I call home. When I was younger I totally took for granted the freedoms and rights we have here and I took for granted how truly beautiful and diverse our country is. I think as a result of this blog I've been very fortunate to travel and see more of Canada as well as meet so many incredible Canadian business owners and I'm so proud to call Canada home.
With Canada Day coming up this weekend an easy way to celebrate with family or friends would be to have a simple picnic. Pick a park, set a time and tell your friends and family to show up with a blanket and some snacks and that's really all you need! To take things up a notch (because we all know I'm a little bit extra like that! ;) lol) I stopped into the dollar store and Party City and spent seriously less than $10 on a few little Canada Day extras (AKA balloons, a few plates/napkins and small flags).
What you serve doesn't have to be fancy, it's more about who you're spending the time with but if I can make a suggestion - get the damn balloons because I truly think as adults we don't get balloons enough and they're just way too fun ;)
